“The Dark Missions of Edgar Brim” is the first book of a dramatic Gothic horror trilogy. Set in the late Victorian era, the story exists among its haunted country manor houses, dim London streets and the desolate Scottish moors.
The trilogy tells the story of Edgar Brim, who at age sixteen, is battling debilitating inner fear (or what we now know as “anxiety”). But armed with the help of an eccentric collection of comrades, Edgar embarks upon the pursuit and assassination of “the evil three.” Each novel presents a different creature.
In the first book, entitled the same as the trilogy, Edgar and his professor fear that the monsters of Edgar’s storybooks are all too real. They find themselves facing a monster that appears to be a revenant from Bram Stoker’s latest book.
